Waghouse Dog Daycare is a new small business in Eldersburg, MD having opened in September 2022. We are creative, innovative and fun and our goal is to provide a safe, organized and fun environment for groups of dogs to play, inside and outside, while interacting with each other and our staff.

Waghouse Dog Daycare is looking to hire a new canine handler to their team.

Experience is a major plus when applying so please point out your strengths and experience in working with dogs especially if it has been in a dog daycare setting, veterinary setting, or kennel setting. The more you let us know about yourself the more likely you are to be selected for an interview.

Training will be provided to all hired staff members and new staff will be required to complete a dog training course within the first month of hiring on your own time.

We would like to ensure we are not hiring and training those who will be unhappy with the tasks at hand shortly after they begin because of an unrealistic idea of what caring for a pack of dogs in a daycare setting is like. It is pertinent that applicants understand that although the main focus is interacting and playing with the dogs, there is constant cleaning and multitasking necessary to keep the dogs safe and sanitary.

We want our facility to be clean, comfortable, and safe for our staff and dog buddies, but that requires someone who is not afraid of consistent hard work, dedication and is also mature enough to handle the various tasks and be reliable showing up to work always and on time.

You also will be having to let the dogs outside in certain rainy, cold, or hot weather conditions to go to the bathroom. These are short but necessary trips and you must be able to function in this setting to keep the dogs safe and the environment sanitary.

Shifts currently begin at 6:30am, 7am and 8am for morning shifts, and 1pm, 1:30pm, or 4pm for afternoon to closing and closing shifts end at around 6:30pm after we close at 6pm.

The main position itself is a Dog Caretaker/Attendant with the possibility of bathing dogs, doing nail trims and lots and lots of cleaning tasks.

Canine Caretakers are required to take daily photos of the dogs to be able to be posted for their owners on social media.

Hours available are currently PART TIME around 10-25 hours, and a full time position 30-40 hours is now also available.
