Position: Staff Dog Trainer
Hours: Monday - Friday Full Time or Part Time (some Sats required)
Location: Wags & Wiggles TUSTIN Facility

Essential Duties:

This position requires an enthusiastic individual who shares our love and passion for dogs. You must be a hard worker, dedicated, reliable, and a team player. You must have a good memory and be great at multitasking. You must be kind towards and accepting of all sizes, ages, and breeds of dogs.

Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Working daily with our Board & Train, Puppy Raising, and Day School canine students
• Logging Training Sessions
• Quick Train sessions in the daycare
• Communicating progress to clients
• Assisting with and eventually teaching group classes
• Cleaning up after dogs
• Handling dogs appropriately using positive reinforcement techniques
• Recognizing dog body language
• Observing dog behavior to promote positive interactions
• Helping new guests acclimate to the group play environment
• Easily remembering dog's names, breeds, and details about individual dogs
• Teaching Classes or Private Lessons (depends on prior experience)

Required Qualifications:

• 1 Year Previous positive reinforcement-based training experience
• Must be devoted to dogs!
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds
• Must be able to be on your feet and moving frequently
• Must be able to handle all types of dogs, including large breeds and/or dogs with behavioral issues
• Must be able to work around disinfectants, dog hair, and other potential allergens
• Must be patient and able to work both in a group setting and individually
• Must be able to work holidays and weekends as needed
