The Team
The Lynden Domestic Operations team handles all aspects of freight activities for major clients that would include heavy customer service and technical solutions for those client. We work as a team in collaboration with many employees across departments and with Lynden services centers system wide. This position will primarily be responsible for our ocean freight business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform all aspects of customer service meeting all company goals and expectations
  • Routing and handling domestic shipments including our offshore markets (Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam and Alaska)
  • Daily monitoring of shipments
  • Works with cartage provider, carriers and Lynden Logistics operational staff on resolving warehouse, cartage, and other logistics issues
  • Vendor negotiations for price and service and customer quoting for individual shipments.
  • Maintain and expand pricing models used in our project business
  • Key account coordinator on Lynden's top customers
  • Identifies root causes of service failures, recommends solutions, and implements recommendations
  • Prepare and execute SOP's and SOW's
  • Predictable and consistent attendance
  • Weekend on-call responsibilities based on a rotating on-call schedule

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • High school education or equivalent and one years progressive work experience in operations
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as tariffs, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Able to work with customers and vendors to come up with solutions that meet company expectations
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Good organizations skills
  • Primarily works with computer and phone but may occasionally need to work in and around warehouse. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

Must pass pre-employment drug test and undergo background investigation.

Ability to possess and maintain a TSA Security Threat Assessment(STA) with a status of Passed, or a TSA recognized equivalent. TSA recognized equivalents include a Secure Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge, Commercial Driver’s License(CDL) with Hazmat Endorsement issued within the 50 States or District of Columbia, the Transportation Worker Identification Card(TWIC), or Free and Secure Trade(FAST) card issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. STA’s will be submitted by Lynden Logistics upon job offer and renewed thereafter. Recognized equivalents must be current at time of application and successfully renewed by the applicant thereafter.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
