(Position is located 30 minutes from Providence, RI – Worcester, MA – New London, CT – Willimantic, CT)

Description:

Domestic Violence Advocate- Seeking full-time Advocates for our Domestic Violence Program (DVP) located in Danielson. Work as part of a team in our 24/7 residential shelters which provide a safe environment to adults and children fleeing domestic violence. You would be a trained certified domestic violence advocate providing individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, shelter and hotline coverage. As part of our DVP team you would coordinate services for victims of domestic violence and collaborate with other staff to meet their needs. Basic office work such as copying, filing, and organizing material; along with cleaning are required.

Rapid Re-Housing/DV Advocate- Seeking Advocates for our Willimantic and Danielson location. You will be a trained certified domestic violence advocate providing case management services, individual counseling, risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy, as well as home visits. As part of our DVP team you will coordinate services for victims of domestic violence and collaborate with staff to meet their needs. Timely documentation, organizational skills, attention to detail, coordinating with community providers such as CCADV (Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence), landlords and the housing locator is a must.

Domestic Violence Program: DVP offers services to anyone who is a victim of domestic abuse and provides a diverse array of services including 24/7 emergency shelter, court advocacy assistance, referral and information services, support groups and counseling, case management, recreation, bilingual staff, educational programs for schools and training for professionals throughout Northeastern Connecticut.

Schedule: We have a variety of full-time and part-time positions available across 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts. All schedules may include flexing and some holidays.

DV- RRH & CM –Friday 12:30pm – 9:00pm

Education Requirements:

  • 1st and 2nd shift positions - Bachelors Degree in relevant human services field, or

Associates Degree plus two years of appropriate experience required.

  • 3rd shift position - High School Diploma plus four years of appropriate

experience required.

United Services requires all employees to be vaccinated against influenza annually during flu season and against COVID- 19 prior to start date.

Salary Range: $18.09 - $20.47 per hour depending on experience

Bilingual Spanish/English Fluency: $19.01 - $21.50 per hour depending on experience
