The Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) is looking for a dynamic person to join our State Plan Residential Services team. This position is responsible for the coordination, development, implementation, and monitoring of processes used by DDA staff, regional leadership, and providers related to specialty services and specialized contracts for clients of DDA.

The DDA State Plan Services Specialist for Region 3 will have region-wide duties, so travel will be necessary. You'll enjoy working with many different offices and personnel in your day-to-day work activities. You'll have a dynamic team to help you as you improve the quality of lives of our clients.

Some of what you'll do:

  • Develop state plan-funded residential facility options for DDA clients
  • Oversee client and provider eligibility and authorization policy and procedures for
    specialty contracts
  • Represent the Administration in community provider meetings
  • Conduct public presentations to a variety of audiences
What we're looking for:
  • Understanding of programs, principles, regulations, and statutes related to DDA and licensed community-based long-term care services for adults
  • Knowledge and subject matter expertise in the business requirements of licensed community-based residential services for adults
  • Expert knowledge of the CARE system and rules governing acuity algorithms
  • Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data from multiple systems
  • Knowledge and expertise in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities who have a history of engaging in behaviors of significant frequency and intensity
  • Knowledge of mental health systems and resources
  • Demonstrated positive working relationships with a broad range of entities including external stakeholders
  • Ability to read, interpret, and implement policies, rules, and regulations of considerable complexity
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with management, peers, providers and staff, clients, families, and the public as required to perform the assigned duties of the position
  • Ability to work independently and plan, organize, and produce quality deliverables on multiple assignments within tight timeframes
Who should apply?
One year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 or equivalent;
OR
Two years of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 2 or equivalent;
OR
A Master’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration or a related field; AND four years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs;
OR
A bachelor’s degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration or a related field; AND five years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.

Note: A degree in Social Work must be from an educational program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
