The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) has an opportunity for Rehabilitation Technicians to provide technical support to Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (VRCs) and other professional staff.
This job is located in SeaTac, WA.

You'll provide assistance to professionals who help customers with disabilities to achieve competitive employment.

King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and a free Orca card for transportation use.

Some of what you'll do:


  • Conduct interviews with potential customers to explain VR programs and collect information to be used in eligibility determination
  • Process application information
  • Assist in collecting diagnostic information to be used in determining eligibility
  • Assist in monitoring customer progress towards achieving employment goals
  • Assist in gathering information needed for the development of the Individual Plan for Employment, including contacting and selecting vendors
  • Schedule appointments for customers to meet with VRCs, and assist VRCs in maintaining contact with customers
  • Register vendors that provide goods and services to DVR customers
  • Prepare and process the Authorization for Purchase of customer goods and services or issue payments
  • Prepare correspondence
  • Maintain electronic and paper case files

Who should apply?
Professionals with 2 years of college-level coursework and one year of experience providing direct services to clients in a non-retail environment.
(Additional experience will substitute for the required education.)

Desired:
  • Familiarity with the needs and difficulties of people with disabilities
  • Effective interviewing and presentation skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and internet browsers
  • Record keeping experience
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated observation skills and the ability to manage time effectively
