Grounds and Nursery Services Specialist 2 (Landscape Specialist)

Do you have experience with gardening and grounds maintenance? We are excited to have an opportunity for a Landscape Specialist to join our team at Rainier School Habilitation Center in Buckley, Washington.

We are looking for a self-starter who is passionate about landscapes and understands the importance of a clean, tranquil, inviting space. Working in all weather conditions, you'll have an important role in supporting a safe environment for the team and clients we serve at Rainier.

Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs.

Some of what you'll do:

  • Perform skilled gardening work on the campus
  • Maintain lawns, plants, shrubs, trees, walkways, flower beds, and landscaping in nurseries, garden beds, and greenhouses
  • Use a variety of manual tools such as rakes, pruning shears, shovels, wheelbarrows, and sprayers
  • Spread, cultivate, and weed soil for gardens and level and seed lawns
  • Operate work vehicles and power equipment such as riding lawnmowers, grass sweepers, tractor-mounted fertilizer spreaders, blowers, hand mowers, weed trimmers, pressure washers, chain saws, light tractors, front-end loaders, sod cutters, and snow blowers
  • Snow and ice removal
  • Remove trash, paper, and debris
