Would you like to help connect, empower and transform the lives of others? An Early Head Start Infant and Toddler Teacher plans and implements a relationship-based, child-directed, and individualized early childhood experience for infants/toddlers enrolled in Early Head Start.

This full time, benefited position is scheduled for 40 hours per week and budgeted for 2000 hours / 250 days per year.

Fully qualified pay rate $ 21.21

Interviews to begin once a qualified pool is received.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education for training plan consideration:

High school diploma or equivalent and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Infant and Toddlers, or, equivalent of 12 quarter ECE credits in age-appropriate early childhood and child development.

Required Education and Experience

Associate degree in early childhood education or child development with an emphasis on groups of children 0-36 months of age.

Associate degree not in ECE and a Child Development Associate (CDA) with an Infant/Toddler credential or equivalent of 12 quarter ECE credits in age-appropriate early childhood and child development.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor degree in early childhood education or child development. One year of consistent paid experience with groups of children 0-36 months of age in a childcare program setting.

Bachelor degree not in ECE and a Child Development Associate (CDA) with an Infant/Toddler credential or equivalent of 12 quarter ECE credits in age-appropriate early childhood and child development. One year of consistent paid experience with groups of children 0-36 months of age in a childcare program setting. * Bi-lingual highly desired

Knowledge of:
1. Current and developmentally appropriate best practices for children age 0-3.
2. Principles of infant/toddler development and infant/toddler curriculum planning.
3. Health and safety issues for infants, toddlers, and their families.
4. Basic rules and principles of grammar, written and verbal communication.
5. Computer word processing.

Ability to:
1. Establish consistent, stable and supportive relationships with infants/toddlers and their families.
2. Embrace role of parent as the primary educator and nurturer in their child's life. Promote and support attachment between parent and child.
3. Adopt EOCF's commitment to supporting and strengthening -economic and educational backgrounds.
4. Prepare and manage records, reports and other documents as required.
5. Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
6. Use the team approach to resolve problems and conflicts.
7. Demonstrate professional and effective written and verbal communication skills, receive information and feedback in an understanding manner, and use good judgement.
8. Work flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
9. Attend appropriate staff meetings and out-of-town training sessions as assigned.
