Roseburg is located on Interstate 5 in Southern Oregons scenic Douglas County. The community is nestled in a lush forested region known as the 100 Valleys of the Umpqua. Responsibilities
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Heart Center Supervisor, the Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for the performance of the echocardiographic/doppler examinations of the heart which are used for the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease. Additionally, the Cardiac Sonographer assists with stress tests, EKG’s and holter monitor application.
Essential Duties:
- Performs non-invasive tasks including two-dimensional and M-mode echocardiography with color flow Doppler (adult and pediatric), in a timely manner, providing high quality images for presentation to the Cardiologist for interpretation.
- Performs pulsed and continuous wave echo Doppler
- Takes accurate measurements and calculations of the echo/doppler recordings.
- Performs stress echoes, including pharmacological studies.
- Sets up and assists with transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Performs digital archival and retrieval of studies.
- Performs Bi-V optimization studies with pacemaker representative and Physician.
- Injects echo contrast agents and acquires corresponding contrast images.
- Completes all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. Assure all fields are complete including but
- not limited to time out reporting in accordance with department and JCAHO safety standards.
- Provides for patient safety and comfort during procedures and coordinates workflow to efficiently accomplish quality
- patient care.
Qualifications
License/Certification:
- Current licensure by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging as a Sonographer required.
- Must be registered by ARDMS or CCI within six (6) months of hire.
- Must have BLS within 30 days of hire and ACLS within the one (1) year of hire.
Experience:
- Six (6) months of echocardiography experience is preferred.
- Advanced computer skills required.
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited cardiovascular school required.
