GENERAL SUMMARY


Under the direction of the Administrative Director, the individual in this position participates in daily flow of administrative duties to include maintenance and update of hospital policies and procedures in adherence to the regulatory standards. Technical duties include supervising the team associated with ECG, EEG, ECHO, and HOLTER.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


CLINICAL SKILLS

  • Performs, in a timely manner, EKG, ECHO, STRESS and HOLTER established by cardiopulmonary, as requested by the physician.
  • Follows standard operating procedures to produce accurate results.
  • Operates cardiopulmonary equipment (e.g., ECHO, EKG, STRESS, computer system), consistent with standard operating procedures.
  • Restocks, as required, the work area of needed supplies to assist co-workers in the performance of their duties.
  • Instructs patients regarding procedure to be performed; answers any questions they may have and calm any anxieties.


  • Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, CQI, safety, environmental and infection control.


  • Maintains equipment by ensuring proper operating condition, cleaning, and sterilization.
  • Maintain stock level of supplies.
  • Maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Alert manager to malfunction of equipment. Document maintenance/repair.
  • Maintains department records, reports, and files as required.

  • Completes necessary paperwork which may include filing, charting, and documenting treatments in patient's file.

  • Responds to incoming inquiries related to in and outpatient reports and deliver reports as requested.


  • Attend meetings as required. Consults with interrelated departments as required.


  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION


  • High school diploma required and a combination of education and experience that exceeds two years from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. Previous exposure or experience in cardiopulmonary setting preferred. Must be Registered, or registry eligible in echocardiography. Must have working knowledge and experience in cardiac stress testing and EKG, and Holter monitoring
  • Participates in educational endeavors of the hospital to meet the current and future needs of the cardiopulmonary department.
  • Participates, as required, in the instruction, guidance, and evaluation of students of the cardiopulmonary programs and other health care professionals.
  • Displays initiative and responsibility for self development by attending in services and impromptu consultations, as dictated by individual needs and the needs of the cardiopulmonary.
  • Participates, as required, in the training, guidance and evaluation of new employees, as established by cardiopulmonary policies (e.g., section training checklist).
  • Other related duties as assigned.
