Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent. Strong computer skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Basic Function:
The EHR Training Specialist will provide instruction in a classroom and or on-site training setting on proper use of the electronic health record. This position will assist in the development of training materials, training content, and topics for on-going EHR training based on chart review and input from management and users including EHR on-boarding training and subsequent trainings on system enhancement/upgrades and related workflows.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide hands on initial and ongoing training on the EHR system (Athena) and other related applications.
- Register associates in the EHR and ensure proper setup prior to their start date.
- Provide periodic updates and reminders to staff regarding EHR updates and enhancements.
- Maintain and utilize education tools on proper use of the EHR.
- Work with the Health Information Technology Specialist to develop and maintain routine and ad hoc reports requested regarding department productivity and quality.
- Assist managers in establishing educational goals and plans regarding the proper use of the EHR.
- Other duties assigned.
