Job Description:
We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as an EHS Manager located in Los Angeles, CA.
In this role you will be responsible for managing the site's Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) management systems in close cooperation with the Plant Manager, regional EHS Sr. Manager and the other site management team members to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory (national, regional, local) and corporate standards.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate environment, health and safety standards such as, but not limited to; OSHA (federal and state), Huntsman PSM, Responsible Care, TSCA, DOT and EPA. The candidate will accomplish this by maintaining and improving management systems and performing regular audits to keep the site compliant.
  • Remain current on EHS Best Practices and act as a change agent within the Plant.
  • Manage and improve an EHS system that provides support to various business processes such as; product development, manufacturing, sales and technical support in compliance with the Huntsman EHS standards and regulatory obligations.
  • Audits manufacturing processes and makes recommendations for process safety.
  • Responsible for site safety training, including employee safety orientation, industrial hygiene, regulatory training and (behavioral based) safety committees as well as for internal EHS audits, data generation and record retention.
  • Deliver annual reports on site environmental performance (waste and emission data) and safety performance in accordance with regulatory and corporate requirements. Issue monthly reports including statistics and relevant conclusions, and recommendations for investment / improvement.
  • Acts as Facility Security Officer, and coordinates plant security operations and requirements to ensure compliance with CFATS requirements.
  • Provides advice and counsel to plant management and acts as an advisor to the Plant Manager in all matters pertaining to environmental, health, safety, process safety, and security of the site.
  • Responsible for the preparation and timely submission of the environmental, health, and safety expense, staffing, and investment budgets. Ensures that expenditures are appropriate and properly documented and within budget or appropriated amounts.
  • Lead and manage the delivery of a reliable, compliant and efficient EHS services while identifying and delivering continued site EHS improvement opportunities
  • Formulate a long term EHS improvement plans and monitor the implementation in line with the site, division, and company strategy
  • Coordinates all Los Angeles Site EHS activities and emergency response preparation
  • Develops and leads programs for improving EHS performance
  • Represents Los Angeles Site before regulatory agencies and community groups (i.e. LEPC) in conjunction with the Corporate Legal team when necessary
  • Maintain liaison with internal EHS, Legal, and Product Safety groups
  • Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives Specific Skills and Knowledge:
  • Advanced computer skills, ability to lead, good oral and written communications, EHS auditing
  • Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, good planning and organizational skills and persistence.
  • Presentation skills for internal and external business meetings are required.
  • Requires flexibility in the light of changing situations, while fully maintaining legal and company standards. Must be prepared to solve emergency problems 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of environmental and safety regulations through study, courses and seminars to ensure full regulatory EHS compliance of the site activities.
Education / Experience Requirements:
• A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree with 3 + years of relevant EHS experience is required. At least 3 years of experience in the field of setting up and managing EHS systems. • Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry is strongly preferred. Leadership Behavior:
