EHS Manager Job at PPG Industries
PPG seeks an EHS Manager for our Elverson Industrial Coatings Facility! The EHS Manager is responsible for leading a comprehensive Environment, Health and Safety program for PPG's Elverson, PA facility. You would provide leadership, direction and training to ensure a safe and healthful workplace for our associates while ensuring compliance with applicable environment, health, and safety regulations and requirements to minimize current and future risk and liabilities. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local and PPG requirements and policies.
- Drive injury prevention, spill elimination and sustainability in the areas of waste elimination, energy conservation and water consumption; provide leadership and direction for EHS training; oversight and completion of the industrial hygiene program.
- Provide incident and injury investigation, incident reporting management and case strategic direction and oversight for the facility; includes workers’ compensation management.
- Evaluate the EHS impacts of capital projects and assure EHS risk assessments are completed.
- Provide oversight, audit readiness and mentorship for compliance audits and corrective action management.
- Oversight of the Waste Management Program (Hazardous, Non-Hazardous, Universal), along with air and water permits.
- Maintain site security, fire prevention, emergency response and contingency plans.
- Actively interact with employees and leadership to promote the PPG EHS culture.
- Drive key safety initiatives including Job Safety Analysis, site safety risk assessments, risk mitigation, and Management of Change.
- Provide guidance related to OSHA PSM requirements.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or related Science field.
- 5+ years of proven experience in the EHS field; manufacturing or chemical setting preferred.
- Proven understanding of safety and environmental regulations and consensus standards (OSHA, PSM, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, Workers’ Compensation), inspection procedures, audits, hazard reviews, incident prevention, incident investigation techniques.
- Strong communication, consulting, influencing, mentor, and leadership skills; effective advisor to management and employees across a variety of issues.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
- Proficiency in the use of computers with knowledge of MS office products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Expert in change management and building a safety culture through influence and engagement.
