Main qualification: be able to design controls (such as Allen Bradley controls) and draw electrical schematics.

# of years of experience: min of 2 years of actually writing code from scratch

Other requirements:

  • Be good at troubleshooting issues.
  • Work with other engineers (electrical and mechanical)
  • Work closely with customers at times: so you need to communicate well and be a good face for the company.
  • Proficiently apply your skills in ladder-logic, function block, instruction lists, and a variety of script coding platforms
  • Work with other departments to improve machine performance
  • Resolve controls-related machine issues
  • Serve as Project technical lead and also having some responsibility for other project management activities.
  • Demonstrate appropriate attitude in all dealings with co-workers, customers, and suppliers.
  • Mark up and maintain Electrical drawings for the plant and machinery
  • Assist other Control Engineer(s) in projects, code compliance, and related practices

Education Requirements:

  • Ideal would be an Associates or Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, EET, Software or Electrical Engineering

Intangibles:

  • Possess the desire to examine and understand process controls systems
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Possess strong problem-solving and project management skills
  • Possess excellent written and interpersonal skills.

Other:

  • Candidates should have additional experiences, including but not limited to: pneumatics, hydraulics, HVAC, electrical, electric motors, PLC’s, and general facility maintenance.
  • Possess a strong computer aptitude, with knowledge of utilizing background processes and services.
  • Ability to analyze and reverse engineer the designed functionality of a variety of paper and bag processes
  • Experience with Allen Bradley, Eurotherm and some Siemens drives and software
  • Experience with HMI’s and Honeywell burner controls
  • Need familiarity with UL and CE certification requirements (we sell machines that go to Europe)
  • Knowledge of NFPA, esp for hot air applications

This is not a position where you're camped out at a desk/ computer. You'll work with our entire fab shop (incl mechanical engineers, experienced assembly workers, other EE's) to design and build machines that have temp controls.

We offer good work / life balance: it's a day shift; 40-45 hours a week; travel to customer sites once a month to commission the machines. Some (but not much) international travel.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
