Nesco Resource is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to work for one our clients based in Shelton, CT.

Summary:

Will be responsible for assisting the engineering design team in the successful creation and validation of new products. This role will include the testing and validation of new/existing designs from the base circuit level to the fully-finished product level.

Main Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Generate engineering test plans for design validation and verification.
  • Execute and document validation and verification test plans for new and existing products.
  • Generate full documentation packages for products including but not limited to schematics, layout files, Bills of Materials, and test procedures.
  • Use problem solving and root cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot issues in embedded electrical circuits.
  • Assemble test fixtures for product verification testing using standard hand tools and soldering equipment.
  • Identify areas of continuous improvement and work with team members to implement solutions.
  • Carry out investigations into returned products returned to Engineering.
  • Ensure all test equipment utilized is always in working order and in calibration.
  • Setup, maintain and monitor battery lab testing.

Knowledge/Skills:

Essential:

  • Experienced Technician with proven track record (3+ years) assisting Engineering Design teams.
  • 3+ years of experience with Product Development.
  • 3+ years of experience in a team environment.
  • Experience with troubleshooting electrical circuits.
  • Experience with electrical lab tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and function generators.
  • Experience with soldering techniques of both thru-hole and surface mount components.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to be part of a team.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (use of arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, manual dexterity for small parts assembly, frequent use.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be an excellent communicator and detail-oriented.

Desirable:

  • Someone who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment.
  • Experience with the PADs circuit design tool suite from Mentor Graphics.
  • Experience in the design of multi-cell battery pack fuel gauging and protection circuitry.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Associate degree preferred in Engineering technology or related field; High school diploma required

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
