SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

Responsible for the overall operation of a project(s)/contract(s) to include the safety and wellbeing of its employees, safeguarding company funds and property, and generally represents the company. Project Managers complete projects to the satisfaction of the client, consistent with first time quality, cost, schedule and contractual requirements. He or She ensures that established company goals are realized while maintaining client relations that will enhance future business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • 1. Identify scope and manage project using independent judgment and exercising discretion.
  • 2. Maintain working knowledge of resources required to successfully complete project.
  • 3. Provide direction and management of manpower.
  • 4. Coordinate and support workflow process to completion and within budget parameters.
  • 5. Predict risk and develop/implement mitigation strategies associated with engineering design, vendor activities, and craft installation activities.
  • 6. Provides control cost associated with engineering design constructability, vendor contracts, and craft teams. Provides cost reporting consistent with client requirements.
  • 7. Influence the actions of those not under direct control.
  • 8. Provide written and face-to-face communications with mid-level plant leaders (above first line supervisor).
  • 9. Provide intrusive management of vendor companies to monitor/control timelines, quality, and scope of deliverables.
  • 10. Ensures appropriate level of project oversight to complete entire project safely, event free with first time quality while meeting client cost and schedule goals.
  • 11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment as well as an industrial nuclear power plant environment observing employees, their progress with assigned work, and interfacing with both employees and client employees with a moderate to high noise level. The employee is required to don the appropriate personal protective equipment while traversing an industrial environment requiring various degrees of protection.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

An ideal candidate will have prior experience with project scheduling software, such as Primavera P6 or MS Project. Must be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions, good analytical and planning skills, and able to learn quickly and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to act professionally at all times, be a good role model, and obey site safety programs. Must be able to perform intrusive management of vendor companies to monitor/control timelines, quality and scope of deliverables. Ability to work at varying heights, cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or extreme cold, and loud (above 89 decibels) environments required. Proven ability to demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior, integrity and trust. Knowledge of BHI Energy processes and procedures and utilization of developed tools to most effectively manage work is essential. Must actively demonstrate the BHI company values and support the BHI Ethics and Standards. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a working knowledge of BHI and client technical manuals and procedures; to pass BHI and client specific training and qualifications as required; subject to personnel call out as required in support of nuclear station emergent work requirements; to work overtime, to include shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed; and be able to pass all background and screening requirements for the position, to include drug and/or alcohol screening. The candidate must be able to meet nuclear badging requirements including but not limited to successfully complete nuclear General Access Training and Radiation Worker Training on the first attempt. The candidate must also be able to pass BHI and client specific training and qualifications on first attempt.

Candidate must have the following prior experience or education:

1) 4 years recent Project Management Experience at a nuclear power plant.

2) Associates Electrical or Instrument and Controls Engineering Degree or higher and 3 years Project Management experience at a nuclear power plant.

3) Recent Electrical or Instrument and Controls Project Management modification installation experience at a nuclear power plant.

4) Experience with Nuclear Instrumentation and BWR under vessel cabling/connectors.

Preferred Experience:

a) Project Management experience of a nuclear power plant digital upgrade.
