Work Schedule
8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required as necessary during campus emergencies.
Primary Purpose of Position
Lead emergency preparedness and planning efforts for the institution. This includes management of the emergency operations plan. Assist the Office in setting strategy for drafting, implementing, and revising all emergency plans for the institution. Facilitate planning meetings related to emergency planning initiatives. Assist the department in planning, implementing, and evaluating emergency preparedness training and exercises. Act in a leadership role during emergency operations center activation(s).
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from a four year college or university and at least four years of program associate experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Essential Job Duties
- Lead emergency preparedness and planning efforts for the institution. This includes management of the emergency operations plan.
- Assist the Office in setting strategy for drafting, implementing, and revising all emergency plans for the institution.
- Facilitate planning meetings related to emergency planning initiatives.
- Assist the department in planning, implementing, and evaluating emergency preparedness training and exercises.
Other Work Responsibilities
- Act in a leadership role during emergency operations center activation(s).
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
- Experience in emergency management at an educational institution.
- ICS 300, 400 certification, and other relevant FEMA training(s).
- Ability to obtain CEM/AEM or relevant state emergency management certification within a year of hire.
Necessary Licenses or Certifications
- ICS 300, 400 certification.
- Ability to obtain CEM/AEM or relevant state emergency management certification within a year of hire.
- Valid Driver’s License needed.
