POSITION: Employment Support Specialist

ABOUT THIS POSITION:

Seeking an energetic, outdoors-loving, Employment Support Specialist with a positive attitude to provide job support. This is a 28 hour per week, seasonal position with the possibility of extension.

Support will be provided to a 20-year-old young man who is currently employed at Waterbury Center Park in Waterbury, VT. This consumer loves building things, storytelling, and all things Disney-related. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors and is excited to engage with the consumer in creative ways to boost motivation throughout the workday.

This position will entail transportation to and from work in addition to job support. Onsite support takes place outdoors (rain or shine), and includes driving around the worksite, providing motivation, encouragement, and supervision to the consumer as he works to complete his job tasks with a small team of coworkers. Paperwork to track progress on goals will also be necessary.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL:

  • Be flexible, creative, optimistic, and open-minded.
  • Work independently and part of a team.
  • Record data and submit electronic paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Follow and implement individual support agreement plans.
  • Collaborate and build positive relationships with team members, support staff, and other appropriate individuals both inside and outside the agency, as needed.
  • Adhere to all of Washington County Mental Health Services policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A positive attitude and sense of humor.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Experience with technology such as Microsoft Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license, excellent driving record, and the use of a safe, reliable vehicle.
