ENGINEER ASSISTANT
ELKTON, VA
On-site, with occasional remote available.
Project Description:
- The candidate will perform downstream process development activities for a vaccine-related drug substance intermediate.
- The candidate will participate in/drive purification and chemical reaction assembly of proteins at lab and pilot scales.
- Common work includes designing and troubleshooting experiments, maintaining analytical systems, analyzing data, and presenting the findings to the team.
- The candidate will also have the opportunity to author technical documents and work with customers on a manufacturing scale.
- The candidate will be part of a dynamic cross-functional team of scientists and engineers.
- Shift work may be required activities.
Required Skills:
- BS in Chemical, Biochemical, or Biomedical engineering, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Chemistry.
- General lab experience.
- Knowledge of tangential flow filtration processing.
- Knowledge of protein purification.
- Knowledge of analytical HPLC and UPLC.
- Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Advanced degrees welcome.
This 12+ month position starts ASAP.
