The Engineering Manager will directly manage the Engineering team while planning, developing and coordinating large projects with many complex features.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing complete automotive subsystems based on customer specs, FMVSS, APTA, and ADA requirements
  • Planning, creating and monitoring the design of engineered systems, components and equipment
  • Creating Installation and subsystem models. drawings, and bills of material as well as new piece part models, drawings, and BOMs used by production or purchasing
  • Conducting FMEAs
  • Coordinating with parent facility researchers and/or engineering personnel to define broad project pr R&D objectives and ascertain the nature of complex research projects; organizing and managing the adaptation of engineering principles in the solution of problems for the development of new techniques, systems and/or processes
  • Directing and coordinating construction, testing and installation activities to ensure conformance to engineering design and specifications
  • Coordinating operation, maintenance, and repair activities to maintain optimum utilization of engineering equipment or systems
  • Providing design concepts and overseeing design by sub-contractors, consulting firms and/or engineers; recommending design modifications or alterations as required
  • Monitoring budget, staffing, and cost control for Engineering Department and each project
  • Developing and createing documentation/papers on projects for publication and/or distribution to customers as required by contract
  • Representing corporation in engineering matters at customer project discussions, design reviews, FAIs, prototype installations, and other contractual obligations
  • Functioning as safety engineer when required.
  • Directing training requirements for new staff

Qualification Requiremens:

Must have working knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles (including metals usch as aluminum and steel , as well as profiles and sheets, rubbers pneumatics and electronics.

Management/Supervision Experience

Bachelors Degree is Mechanical Engineering required, experience in door manufacturing preferred!

Prociency in geometric dimensioning, tolerance, 2D and 3D CAD (Catia, V5, Solidworks, Autocad)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
