We are seeking a new full-time English teacher to cover potential sections in 8th, 9th, or 10 grade at the College Preparatory and Honors levels.
Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Upper School Principal
Overview
This position is responsible for effective instruction and leadership in his/her classroom. A faculty member is expected to aid Hebron Christian Academy in achieving its mission. A commitment to excellence and unparalleled customer service is needed and is the expectation of all Hebron employees.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in subject area or related field

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Creates, prepares, and implements lessons in the classroom that appeals to a diverse student population.
  • Cooperates with the Board and administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school.
  • Notifies the administration of any policy he/she is unable to support.
  • Maintains regular and accurate attendance and grade records to meet the demands for a comprehensive knowledge of each student’s progress.
  • Maintains confidentiality of students and students’ records.
  • Facilitates home-school communication through conferences, telephone calls, and written communication.
  • Keeps students, parents, and the administration adequately informed of progress of deficiencies and gives sufficient notice of failure.
  • Attends and participates in scheduled orientation, devotions, in-service retreat, committee meetings, faculty meetings, and staff development programs.
  • Reports to work as assigned and is punctual.
  • Knows the procedures for dealing with issues of an emergency nature.
  • Maintains a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom.
  • Supervises extra-curricular activities and organizations as assigned.
  • Supports the broader program of the school by attending extra-curricular activities when possible.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
