POSITION SUMMARY

The Systems Administrator is a technically knowledgeable and operationally focused professional within the Enterprise Systems Operations team responsible for administration of a broad range of IT systems’ service delivery related to enterprise platforms for server, storage, identity/access management, and related infrastructure services including systems’ availability, business continuity/disaster recovery, proactive configuration/lifecycle management, and IT Service Management including incident, problem, request and change management.

The Systems Administrator provides superior service delivery and technical expertise across a broad range of operations and support of technology systems. This role focuses on proactive maintenance, tuning, monitoring, incident response and remediation, implementation of approved systems changes, and new systems configuration. The Systems Administrator works closely with other Enterprise Systems Operations team members to deliver on departmental SLAs and other performance commitments made to resort and enterprise stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

General Responsibilities

  • Implement, build, configure, and document compute/server, storage, hyperconverged infrastructure, Active Directory and related operational management systems, based on established designs and standards.

  • Provide outstanding delivery of 24/7 production services supporting server hardware, operating systems, hypervisors, hyperconverged infrastructure, storage platforms, cloud services, and Microsoft enterprise infrastructure platforms.

  • Provide technical expertise and hands-on capability identify, diagnose and resolve operational impacts to service such as outages, performance issues, capacity constraints, and security risks.

  • Perform configuration and change management activities as driven by formal ITSM processes established for the department.

  • Operate next-generation infrastructure automation that drives efficiency, security, and optimizes performance against established goals of availability, recoverability, performance, and other KPIs.

  • Collaborate with other member of the Systems Operations team and resort IT teams.

  • Follow existing and recommend new processes, structures, and systems with a focus on simplification and optimization.

  • Act as point of escalation for both internal customers (resort and enterprise applications) and departmental issues and incidents.

  • Collaborate closely with Business Applications/Business Analyst teams to establish and support applications operations frameworks and processes.

  • Work closely with IT Security, Compliance & Privacy to enforce standards, operational processes, and policies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Windows Server Operating Systems, server roles, lifecycle management

  • Advanced knowledge and experience managing Certificate Authority and Private Key Infrastructure

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in DNS Administration

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Group Policy and related configuration management methods

  • Functional knowledge and experience with SQL Server Administration

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Web Server Administration (IIS)

  • Functional knowledge and experience with Load Balancing/Reverse Proxy/VIPs, specifically Netscaler VPX

  • Expert level knowledge and experience with File Services (NTFS, CIFS, SMB)

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Remote Access technologies such as Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, RDS, and Horizon View

  • Functional knowledge and experience with High-Availability Systems management including concepts such as cluster services, failover monitoring and management

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Backup, Recovery, and Archiving using technologies such as VSS, BackupExec, NetBackup, and Veeam

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Monitoring and Alerting with tools such as SCOM, Cacti, etc.

  • Expert level knowledge and experience with DHCP, Print, and other ancillary services

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with core Active Directory management functions (OU Structure, Security Group Mgt, Admin Access Mgt)

  • Functional knowledge and experience with complex Active Directory environments and management (Multi-forest, domain trusts, schema & integration)

  • Functional knowledge and experience with Azure Active Directory (AAD, MFA, PIM, B2B)

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Capacity Management

  • Advanced knowledge and experience managing complex VMware vSphere, vCenter environments

  • Expert level knowledge and experience with Windows workstation management, deployment, mobility services management

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in PowerShell Scripting

  • Functional level knowledge of networking concepts (routing, switching, firewalling)

  • Preferred Capabilities and Technology Skills

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Configuration Management using technologies such as SCCM, InTune, OSD, App Packaging, AGPM, DSC

  • Functional knowledge and experience with Azure Administration (Monitoring, Access, Optimization/Auto-scaling, IaaS, PaaS)

  • Functional knowledge and experience with Azure Automation & Governance (AZ Policy, AZ Automation/Runbooks, Blueprints, IaC/ARM/Terraform)

  • Functional knowledge and experience with Hyperconverged Infrastructure, specifically HPE Simplivity, including replication/BURA and large multi-cluster federations

  • Functional knowledge and experience managing Storage Platforms (SAN (EMC), NAS (Nasuni, Equalogic), NFS, iSCSI, fibre channel)

  • Functional knowledge and experience with traditional compute infrastructure (bare-metal/physical servers, blade technology)

  • Functional knowledge and experience managing Linux or Unix Operating Systems

  • Advanced knowledge and experience of Office 365 Administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams (including telephony integration))

  • Functional knowledge of technical requirements to meet PCI and SOX compliance

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and certifications in CS, EE, CIS or other related field is preferred. MCSE or other advanced MS certifications are preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with progression through more complex environments and breadth of functional responsibility.

  • Proficiency in adjacent areas of IT Operations is a plus (eg. Network Operations, Database Administration)

  • ITIL v3 Foundations certification or equivalent demonstrable ITSM experience is required

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc.’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Denver area base salary range: $63,000 to $95,000 per year
