Our client is looking for Entry-Level Machinists to join their team in Midland, TX. Entry-Level Machine Operator Requirements:
- Ability to gage ID sizes, lengths, and finishes with appropriate 3 point dial bore gage 3-point gages, tape measure and pick.
- Ability to identify material by size, type, and length and match it to work order and blueprint specifications.
- Ability to comprehend and implement verbal and written technical instructions.
- Ability to lift parts and tooling for setup, loading and unloading of machines.
- Perform in-process inspection to maintain specified tolerances and finishes of honed IDs.
- Basic setup and operation of a machine; abrasives, chuck pads, drive shafts, tailpieces, and gaging equipment.
- Maintain clean, safe, and orderly machine and work area.
- Check and replenish machine fluids as necessary.
- Operate single spindle hone with moderate supervision.
- Using work order and blueprint, set up per required material type, diameter and length.
- Measure parts and saw to length as specified in the work order and count scrap material against the job, verify material type and size in relation to the work order.
- Change saw blade when required, perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on saw and material rack.
- Move materials, load and unload saw, CNC work stations, and other work areas as assigned; identify, organize, stow, and retrieve work-in-process materials.
- Assist in loading and unloading materials shipments. • Load and unload machine • Setup press for various material sizes.
- Verify material type, size, length, and count.
- Straighten raw materials; finished parts and machine tooling to specified indicator runout using a straightening press.
- Train other employees on straightener as required.
- Test and inspect products at various stages of the production process.
- Record data to validate or indicate deviation (nonconformance) from requirements.
- Dimensional verification (i.e., in-process, final) using measuring and test equipment of components and/or weldments per drawing requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings and vendor documentation.
- May set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products.
