Headquartered in South Haven, MI, US Tarp® designs, manufactures and distributes load containment and cargo protection tarping systems, controls, and tarps for commercial vehicle applications. The US Tarp® design team develops automated and manual systems for custom applications in the Construction & Landscaping, Agriculture, and the Recycling & Refuse markets. Our systems are used on commercial medium duty trucks, heavy duty tractor trailers, dump trucks and roll-off container handling equipment.

About the Job:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Research and develop new systems, processes, equipment, and products; build prototypes
  • Determine problem solutions and implement improvements; evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify areas of improvement
  • Create or modify bill of materials for new systems
  • Test US Tarp parts vs competitor’s products
  • Support manufacturing on a variety of technical issues
  • Provide technical support to CSR’s; provide support and answer questions for customers
  • Perform CAD tarp, component, system, and new product design
  • Provide field service report; system repair or provide system installation training to customers
  • Perform quality control checks of systems before shipment; manage customer and vendor issues
  • Other related duties as assigned

Requirements:Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 1 Years of experience in engineering, design, and manufacturing
  • Capable of using measuring equipment (Calipers, tape measure, etc)
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical computations
  • Strong analytical thinker
  • Proficient in Autodesk Inventory, ACAD, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Effective Verbal and written communication
  • Professional interactions with customer, vendors, and employees
  • Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate channels
  • Ability to operate standard professional office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, and file cabinets
