This position assists the Media Arts Facilities Manager in maintaining the audio/video/photo/laptop equipment and the electronic reservation system used for student equipment check out for completion of class assignments. This position works under the supervision of the Facilities Mgr. responsible for MA&T equipment and the reservation/return system for the department.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Facilities Manager in the following areas:
Training work study students assigned to the equipment check out window, Maintaining equipment logs and check out system and inventory of equipment, Process equipment reservations/returns, Complete weekly checks of equipment for maintenance, Keep equipment storage area organized/labeled, Maintaining the student authorization equipment ID cards, Maintain regular attendance, create content for social media outreach, Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED; and the completion of 48 hours of college level coursework.
Preferred Qualifications
Audio/video/photo equipment experience
Special Conditions for Eligibility
  • Must be willing to work weekends, evenings, and odd hours as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of media arts audio/video/photo equipment
Knowledge of MA&T equipment procedures and electronic reservation system
Knowledge utilizing work processing and spreadsheet data bases
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Knowledge of office practices and procedures
Physical Demands
  • Repetitive hand motion and prolonged use of computer;
  • Sitting for extended periods of time;
  • Walking, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling or lifting greater than 50 pounds – occasionally
Lifting up to 50 pounds – frequently Working Environment
  • Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment;
  • Work with frequent interruptions;
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
