DIVISION OVERVIEW:
Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans. With a large printable surface area and a wide range of sizes, shapes and decorating options, our aluminum cans are the perfect packaging format to create compelling brand presence where it counts. Here at the Olympia Plant, we currently manufacture 12 oz. beverage cans. It is your chance to join the Crown Beverage Division.

Location: Olympia, WA

Job Type: Hourly

Education: No high school diploma required

Pay: Starting at $36.00/hr. with a $500.00 Sign-on Bonus after 90 successful calendar days.

Hours of work: 4-days on/off, 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. or 6 p.m. – 6 a.m. (most likely night shift).

Primary Job Requirements:
  • Responsible for setting up, adjust, repair, overhaul, perform PM’s (preventive maintenances), ESEs (quality adjustment checks), and evaluate seamless can line equipment as required to maintain standard quality and quantity production.
  • Has primary responsibility for safe mechanical performance of line and standard production output.
  • Disassemble, replace, reassemble, inspect, and maintain assigned machinery and equipment as required.
  • Measure and record all can dimensions against specifications. Maintain records of production, quality and other related records as directed.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues; perform mechanical repairs and maintenance for production equipment.
  • Has primary responsibility for safety for all areas of assigned duties.
  • This position is in the training program. The successful candidate will be required to complete a 6,000-hour training program to be fully qualified as a Maintainer. Extensive on-the-job-training (OJT) will be provided.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in preventative maintenance, mechanical experiences, troubleshooting skills and/or equipment, re-building expertise are required.
  • Working in a manufacturing setting with knowledge and/or experience working with high speed machinery is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand for long periods as well as work on elevated stationary platforms.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, evenings, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate
  • Withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer and winter months.
  • Ability to work under time pressures and flexibility to adjust to sudden work patterns or schedules.
  • Noise level is frequently loud and will be required to wear hearing protection.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, good record keeping and precision abilities
  • Ability to work independently and with teams and must have good interpersonal skills.
  • High competency in the use of micrometers and calipers
  • Must possess strong math skills.
  • Fully comply with all OSHA and WISHA safety rules and regulations.
  • This position requires union membership after 30 days of hire
