Job Summary

As an Events Coordinator, you will help the Seafood Merchandising Manager develop and execute seafood event plans. This includes coordinating special event, visiting stores to identify operational and merchandising opportunities, and developing necessary coaching and action plans for improvement.

Job Description

  • Experience Required: 1 to 3 years
  • Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification or Licensing Required: Valid Driver's License; Culinary Arts
  • Travel Required: Regional Overnight, More than 50%

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, schedule and execute seafood merchandising events designed to entice customer purchases with outstanding value driven by themed events.
  • Assist merchandising manager in the development of creative, themed seafood events to meet and exceed sales and margin requirements.
  • Plan for successful coordination, communication and execution of themed events at the store level, including scheduling cooking demonstrations with one-to-one employees.
  • Communicate themed events information with merchandising departments and store-level employees necessary to coordinate and execute events in a manner to create teamwork and enthusiasm.
  • Work with themed events team members and store-level staff to promote the successful execution of events while teaching and training in the areas of: product knowledge and food preparation, salesmanship and customer engagement.
  • Develop and provide evaluation reports to track and communicate successful events and opportunities, as well as product movement and sales per event.
  • Formulate sales/product projections for themed events and communicate to seafood merchandisers/buyers for the procurement of products needed for scheduled themed events.
  • Execute business initiatives, monitor adherence to Company policies/procedures, measure results and provide feedback by conducting regular store visits to ensure that Company requirements are met.
  • Participate in creating and implementing the Company’s strategic business plans regarding the seafood businesses to improve sales and gross profit — providing feedback on the effectiveness of the business plans.
  • Review and analyze store financial and LOB reports, customer satisfaction index and historical reports to improve performance in sales, profits, shrink, labor controls and reduction.
  • Participate in meetings and seminars mutually agreed upon by Regional Business Managers and the Seafood Director.
  • Participate in store openings and/or store remodels as required.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
