The Club

The Council Fire Club (CFC) is a private members-only club. Amenities include an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Mr. Bob Cupp. CFC has hosted both a PGA Tour and Senior Tour event in the past. Other prominent events have included USGA Qualifiers, Tennessee State Championship including the 2021 Men’s State Amateur Championship and 2022 Tennessee State Open Championship. The club also offers tennis courts, a swimming pool and both fine and casual dining for our members.

The Position

The Executive Chef is the culinary leadership and quality assurance position for all kitchen offerings at the club. She/he has a strong passion for excellence and deliver high-quality food, create new recipes, and offer attentive service to members and guests while directing their BOH team.

Daily Key Responsibilities (not limited to) of the Executive Chef

  • Lead, train, develop and inspire the culinary team.
  • Weekly review of payroll and budgeted hours. Reporting results to the General Manager and Operations Manager with review opportunities with her/his team.
  • Manage financial cost controls and culinary operations
  • Elevate the culinary experience by focusing on food quality and upholding presentation standards
  • Takes the lead role in developing ongoing training programs. Assures that effective orientation and training

are given to each new associate.

  • Create new and innovative menu items based around current food trends and club events
  • Monitors market conditions and reports to General Manager on KPI’s concerning business costs, volume, and profitability.
  • Directs inventory control measures and assists with calculation for monthly analysis and

reconciliation. Identifies opportunities to control costs and other expenses.

  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Partner with all leadership team in creating WOW moments for the club’s members and guests.
  • Other duties assigned by the General Manager to enhance the member experience and support the financial success of the club.

Minimum Qualifications for the Executive Chef Position

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university preferred, or four to six years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the hospitality POS system application, hardware, Microsoft applications
  • Food and Safety Certifications

Leadership

The Executive Chef is part of the facility leadership team. She/he takes a hands-on approach and assists’ high-level standards to the other leadership team members. From a leadership position, the Executive Chef must be a passionate leader who lights up a room, infuses energy in others, and inspires people to raise their own personal expectations with pride and accountability.

The Person

The successful candidate will be dedicated hospitality professional with a servant’s heart. She/he will be highly focused on providing best-in-class service levels; always looking for ways to raise service standards at CFC. The ideal candidate will be a multi-tasking individual who is self-motivated with the ability to maintain a positive atmosphere for all associates and members.

The successful candidate must be a highly engaged individual with an outgoing personality and strong interpersonal skills. She/he will be of high character and possess a passion and commitment for exceeding member and guest expectations every day. Critically important to the success of this position, the successful candidate must be a diplomatic team player. She/he will excel in a high-energy, engaging team-based environment with effective leadership, communication, and training skills.

She/he will be reporting to the General Manager but assisting, and guiding the development of the other leadership team members. It will be imperative she/he have a sincere desire to foster and maintain quality relationships with fellow associates and the CFC membership. Finally, she/he will possess experience in building strong kitchen teams and creating a positive, safe, and mutually respectful culture.

Compensation

As part of the facility leadership team the Executive Chef is a salary position. Annual salary for this position is schedule to begin at 100K base.

CFC offers a very attractive benefits package to include medical, dental, vision at minimal cost to the associate ($15.00/paycheck – individual and $150.00/paycheck for family through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Tennessee). The successful candidate will be given a full family membership with access to the entire facility. Uniform allowance, and meals while on duty are also included. Finally, you will have $20,000.00 of life insurance coverage. Larger life insurance policies, as well as short and long-term disability, are available – they are voluntary and are paid-in-full by the associate.
