We are hiring a Chef to be responsible for overseeing the food preparation and cooking activities of back-of-house staff (BOH) and ensuring the quality of food products. They manage all aspects of food purchasing, preparation, and presentation

Roles + Responsibilities

To be successful in this role, you’ll need management skills and experience in the back of the house kitchen and staff. This includes, but not limited to:

  • Supervise food preparation and presentation, ensuring consistent adherence to recipes and standards.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of all dishes, both in preparation and plating.
  • Plan production schedules and manage their execution.
  • Train staff in their respective roles and duties as needed.
  • Address customer concerns related to food quality and execution.
  • Adhere to all kitchen operation and management procedures.
  • Communicate any opportunities or issues to senior management for assistance or guidance.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of food pairings.
  • Represent the restaurant and brand at outside events as needed.
  • Ensure kitchen operations are in compliance with health and licensing regulations and adhere to health and safety procedures.
  • Implement and manage systems for food purchasing, labor budget, and trackers.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports, including daily kitchen logs and budget trackers.
  • Oversee the 3rd party cleaning service and verify their completion and quality.
  • Maintain uniform standards.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and develop BOH team members, post schedules, and identify potential managers.
  • Provide guidance and oversight of BOH team members, recognizing performance and following progressive disciplinary procedures.
  • Ensure equipment repair and preventative maintenance needs are met and/or communicated to the designated manager.
  • Develop and present innovative menus for senior management approval.
  • Prepare cuisine using skill and creativity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
