EXECUTIVE DIR/INNOVATION & ONLINE BUSINESS OPERATIONS

Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Vice President, Innovation & Online (I/O), the Executive Director of Business Operations (ED) is responsible for overseeing and managing essential business operations and services for the I/O enterprise including, but not limited to budget development, reconciliation, and reporting. The ED is responsible for the management and oversight of staffing and resources assigned to on and off-campus center locations. The Executive Director (ED) is also the primary liaison with Human Resources to facilitate personnel transactions, compensation analyses, payroll, and compliance with CMU policies and procedures. The Executive Director (ED) assists the administrative team in the collection of data and preparation of reports, presentations, and for summarizing enrollments and activity for Innovation and Online. Other duties include management of all I/O facilities and office logistics. As directed by the Vice President, the ED leads or collaborates on projects and initiatives involving internal and external stakeholders to advance the goals and objectives of Innovation and Online.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree, preferably in business or educational administration, public administration, leadership, or higher education administration.
Minimum five (5) years of professional work experience with budgets/finance.
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
Previous supervisory experience.
Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment and coordinate the work of others as appropriate. Ability to travel to Innovation and Online off-campus centers as needed (quarterly).
Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills.
Ability to perform the essential functions and requirements of the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree, preferably in business, educational administration, leadership, public administration or higher education administration.
Prior work experience with adult learners and/or higher education environment.
Marketing knowledge, promotional ability, and familiarity with public relations techniques
Prior customer service and human resource experience.
Knowledge of email and Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and online systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the administrative and physical operations of the Innovation and Online unit.
Coordinates the development, implementation, and administrative functions of the Innovation and Online budget including reconciliation, review of budget proposals, working with product vendors, contracts and purchasing, invoice processing, and service for fleet vehicles.
Prepares recommendations for budget allocations and assignment of budget levels in collaboration with the Vice President of Innovation.
Provides operational oversight of existing I/O Outreach Hubs and on and off campus center locations. This includes staffing, resource assessment, facility upgrades, and oversight for annual review and reporting of outreach and productivity.
Manages administrative functions related to Human Resources, payroll, and staffing.
Collaborates and serves in an advisory role with event coordinator and outreach staff on activities and events held at on and off campus center locations.
Develops plan, identifies resources, and creates advisory team for implementation of annual off-campus commencement.
Collaborates with CMU Executive Director for Licensure, Regulatory Services & Human Capital on all issues related to off-site locations and military base activity.
Works in conjunction with military strategist on establishing visiting school status contracts with select military bases.
Assists the Innovation and Online administrative team in the collection of data and preparation of reports and presentations.
Participates in cross-functional teams to advance the goals and objectives of Innovation and Online.
Collaborates with Communication Director on executive briefings and administrative communications as required.
Completes special projects as assigned by the Vice President of Innovation and Online.
