Extrusion Tooling Design Engineer:
Summary/Objective
Extrusion Tooling Design Engineer will design/develop tooling to be used in the plastic extrusion process along with writing programs for both wire EDM’s and CNC mills.
Essential Functions
Implement Engineering principles to design tooling for a wide range of extruded plastic products.
Draft and prepare layout drawings for tool builds
Work under the supervision of Corporate Plastics Engineering Manager.
Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and technicians on projects.
File and maintain engineering drawings
Revise and create drawings according to customer’s prints/specifications
Write CNC programs for wire EDMs and CNC mills
Understand and utilize basic machining knowledge
Utilize/Practice strong machining knowledge
Prepare new and existing tool quotes
Prepare EOM tool costs
Utilize strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft office suite
Perform work orders and maintain all documentation related to the work order system
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in using CAD software (primarily AutoCAD)
Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite (specifically Word and Excel)
Understanding of machining principles, especially when related to CNC machining and CAM programming
Experience in a machine shop or a manufacturing environment
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, frequently changing production environment

This job operates primarily in a professional office environment along with spending time in both a machine shop and manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as copmuters, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. On occasion, the role will use both machine shop and extrusion manufacturing equipment.
Travel
Travel is primarily optional.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
Education and Experience
1. Bachelors degree in an engineering area preferred
Engineering/Drafting experience equal to level of degree
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 per year
