Responsibilities:

The Extrusion Technician acts in a technical capacity regarding the set up and operation of injection molding and melt extrusion processes.

Qualifications:

• Ability to run injection molding equipment or fiber extrusion equipment continuously for production.
• Makes predictive changes to the injection molding and melt extrusion processes that enable production to hit desired specifications and be able to troubleshoot problematic production runs.
• Understands the process implications of all the individual steps of production and can suggest process and equipment improvements to address deficiencies.
• Makes decision to enable efficient machine setup and optimize product processing.
• Performs troubleshooting and required mechanical adjustments to injection molding and extrusion equipment.
• Manages and understands maintenance and quality documentation for injection molding and extrusion processes.
• Ability to inspect and test final products of injection molding and fiber extrusion

Other Duties

• Adheres to GMP/QSR requirements and follows applicable QMS documentation (e.g., SOP’s, Work Instructions) to successfully accomplish job requirements.
• Follows Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies and procedures, including wearing hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, eye protection as required.
• Follows gowning procedures in designated areas.
• Follows established safety requirements and adheres to the Health Safety and Environment Management System.
• Performs other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
