    About the Position: Saint Ignatius High School, a highly successful Jesuit college preparatory school for boys in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking an energetic Facilities, Grounds and Events Associate 2 to work with our Campus Operations team to maintain the upkeep of our facilities. The ideal candidate will bring a hard-working, meticulous work ethic along with a positive, customer service attitude. A successful candidate will ensure that the facilities are properly functioning at all times and perform general maintenance & up-keep of multiple building sites. This includes some exterior duties as well as interior building duties. This full-time, non-exempt, year round position reports to the Facilities, Grounds & Events Supervisor.

    Primary Areas of Responsibility:
    • General maintenance & up-keep of multiple building sites. This includes some exterior duties as well as interior building duties.
    • Identify potential maintenance issues and bring them to attention of your immediate Supervisor.
    • Routine floor maintenance including shampoo rugs, carpet, mop, wax and buff floors.
    • Maintaining site landscaping; lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, turf and irrigation.
    • Operating and maintaining hand tools, such as loppers, saws and shovels efficiently.
    • Operating and maintaining trucks and power tools.
    • Keeping grounds free from trash, litter and debris, and emptying trash receptacles.
    • Removing snow by using shovel, plow or snow blower.
    • Sweeps, mops, wet-washes, and vacuums floors and stairwells in assigned area.
    • Uses power scrubbers, extractors, floor machines, lawnmowers, weed-wackers, snow blowers, and all other equipment needed to perform job responsibilities as directed.
    • Replaces lights that are not operating and inform supervisor of any lighting problems.
    • Moves furniture, materials, and equipment as required.
    • Clean windows, mirrors and other glass surfaces.
    • May clean-up water/debris due to leaks and floods.
    • Interact with campus event coordinators to complete all event setups and breakdowns for special events, sports, and recreation activities.
    • Provide customer service to all visitors, students, faculty, staff, and event sponsors.
    • Perform general cleaning of common areas, during and after events, as needed.
    • Reports to supervisor any acts of vandalism, deliberate littering, equipment failures.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
    • Ability to walk, climb extended ladders, stretch, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
    • Valid driver’s license required
    • Ability to operate a computer, check email and perform research for work related items.

    Saint Ignatius High School, which opened its doors September 6, 1886, is a Jesuit college-preparatory school. The school enrolls more than 1,400 young men who hail from 92 cities in an 11-county region. Located in close proximity to downtown Cleveland in the vibrant and energetic Ohio City neighborhood, the school occupies 23 acres and includes 19 buildings and three athletic fields.
