The Memphis Sports and Events Center (MSEC), adjacent to Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, iis a 227,000 square foot facility designed to drive both sports tourism and local engagement. With 16 basketball / 32 volleyball courts that are adaptable to a wide range of sports and events, the MSEC will also feature amenities such as a full-service cafe, VIP suites and spectator seating for thousands. The facility is operated by Virginia-based Eastern Sports Management (ESM) and is part of the Liberty Park project, a mixed-use development of entertainment venues, dining, retail, hotels and apartments.
The Memphis Sports and Events Center is accepting applications for a Facilities Lead to assist the Facilities Director with the overall appearance, safety, cleanliness and functionality of the MSEC, which includes maintenance, custodial support and regulatory compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate the duties of custodial and janitorial staff
- Perform cleaning tasks as required
- Assist with department budget and reconcile supply invoices
- Assist in the management of inventory and order supplies as necessary
- Meet with supply vendors and make decisions about products
- Communicate with sales representatives and suppliers
- Inspect equipment and supply deliveries
- Inspect and perform basic maintenance on equipment
- Prepare the facility for programs and events
- Assist with facility transitions, including weeknight and weekend transitions
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required or assigned by the Facilities Director and/or General Manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in interviewing, hiring and training employees
- Planning, assigning, and directing work
- Appraising performance
- Rewarding and disciplining employees
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems
REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience: Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience that includes:
- Basic HVAC
- Security Alarm
- Fire Alarm
- Basic Electrical
- Commercial cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
Language Skills: Ability to speak, read, and comprehend operator manuals and other job-related documents (SDSs, product labels, etc.) in English. Ability to write reports and other correspondence in English. Other language skills are desirable.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to make job-related calculations with and without electronic devices (calculators, computers, etc).
Computer Skills: Use of a windows-based workstation and peripheral equipment (cameras, barcode scanners, scanners, printers, etc.) is required.

The Facilities Lead is normally indoors in a temperature and humidity-controlled, indoor environment with occasional exposure to ambient outdoor conditions (wind, rain, cold, etc). The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
