This position requires manufacturing experience.

Establish and deliver the facilities plan which will most effectively support the company. Supervise and oversee the day-to-day activities which ensure that the facilities are continuously able to support all (production and non-production) functions, processes, and areas necessary for safe, high-quality, timely and efficient production.

Facilities Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implementing various engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates and designs for operations, maintenance and support requirement to maintain facilities.
  • Direct/conduct studies involving multi-disciplinary engineering programs for facility modifications, operation and maintenance and construction
  • Conduct engineering studies related to developing specialized facilities with unique standards
  • Validate instructions for facility operations, maintenance, and repairs
  • Coordinate the purchases of presses, cranes, forklifts, compressors, etc. through corporate headquarters
  • Work with the Industrial Engineers on layouts and machinery moves and installation
  • Coordinate the installation of conveyers, air conditioning, ventilation systems and equipment
  • Lead major repairs of critical equipment and facilities
  • On call to assist plants when emergency repairs are required
  • Conduct facilities audits to ensure compliance with all expectations
  • Complete health assessments on critical existing capital equipment, utilizing these assessments to identify repair and upgrade requirements
  • Lead facility modifications, upgrades and other related tasks required to support program launch activities
  • Leads/manages large corporate capital projects, including press procurement, plant expansions, new plant start-ups, etc.
  • Facilitate introduction of new products and processes into plants
  • Develop equipment specifications Follow projects to completion
  • Maintain and continually improve preventive maintenance (PM) systems and processes.
  • Participate all Plant Emergency Organization (P.E.O.) activities.
  • Provide effective liaison between the manufacturing facility and the property, casualty and liability insurance carriers.
  • Promote, facilitate and institutionalize Total Productive Maintenance principles throughout the facility.
  • Facilitate effective utilization and operation of facility support systems.
  • Promote and support a teamwork approach to achieving goals with particular emphasis on DCP, AQP, and TPM activities.
  • Promote and support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a working awareness of facilities management and technology trends and opportunities.
  • Coordinate all outside contract work for new construction, repair, technical and janitorial services, fork truck maintenance, etc. ensuring that all cost, quality, delivery, and safety standards are met.
  • Coordinate all buildings and grounds activities ensuring the facility is both functionally and visually appealing.
  • Facilitate the implementation and maintenance of a continually improving World Class work order system.
  • Develop annual Facilities budget for integration into LRP.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Ensure open and effective communications.
  • Promote and support workforce diversity.
  • Maintain a work environment where third party intervention is not required or desired.
  • Continually improve health, safety, and coordinate the environmental management system.
  • Lead and improve the ISO environmental management system.

Facilities Maintenance Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering with an emphasis in Electrical or Mechanical from a four-year college or university
  • 3+ year’s experience in Building Facilities Maintenance Contracts & Project Work in the manufacturing industry.
  • Must be available to travel with minimal notification.

​Salary $70,000 - $80,000 per year.
