POSITION PURPOSE:

Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Manager, this position is responsible for the maintenance, proactive and reactive, security and janitorial service of multiple facilities. The Facilities Technician performs routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs of the internal/external facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement. Uses hand and power tools in making minor maintenance repairs and maintain grounds and walk-walkways.
  • Performs preventive building maintenance duties, including caulking windows and doors, changing HVAC filters and other duties as assigned.
  • Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets and water fountains.
  • Performs emergency clean-up in bathrooms, waiting rooms and outside facilities.
  • Performs routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps.
  • Dismantle/install and moves furniture and assists with departmental and employee moves.
  • Repairs and replaces door knobs and/or locks, repairs door closures, repair drywall and general painting.
  • Provides assistance to officials, staff, visitors and other employees as necessary.
  • Participates in building coverage by working evenings and weekends as required for maintenance that cannot be performed during regular business hours.
  • Transports goods and equipment as needed.
  • Notifies management concerning the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Logistic Manager and Logistics Director.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
  • Ability to operate power tools and lawn equipment.
  • Detail orientated.
  • Current and valid Oregon Driver’s license.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sitting: 20%; Standing 20%; Walking 10%; Kneeling 10%; Twisting 10%; Reaching 10%; Lifting/Carrying 10% Climbing ladders 10%. Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs;
