Family Partner PACT-Y - Community Based

Salary Range:  $20.00-$22.00/Hour

Wayside Youth & Family Support Network’s Waltham site is hiring a Family Partner for an innovative, evidenced based model of treatment in Massachusetts, the Program for Assertive Community Treatment for Youth (PACT-Y).
The Family Partner must have lived experience as a parent/primary caregiver of a youth who is/has been involved in the mental health system. This program is a DMH funded, intensive, self-contained, community-based program, serving youth and their families. We are looking for individuals who are open to working a M-F with flexible scheduling including evenings. We provide a supportive culture that allows for a balance of personal responsibilities and professional development while contributing to the community.

What you will do:
  • Provide emotional and problem-solving support to caregivers receiving services.
  • Assists caregivers in planning for the strengths and needs of their child.
  • Help parents/caregivers access resources, services and support.
  • Team up and consult with providers and parents/caregivers about how to best meet the needs of youth with mental health concerns.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Lived experience as a caregiver of a youth facing challenges with mental health, emotional health and/or trauma resulting in significant life disruption is required.
  • Willingness to share your family’s recovery story in the context of peer support.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health systems and services, DMH, and DCF resources, special education law and services, and other social service resources, and how to access these services.
  • Valid driver’s license/access to reliable automobile.
We will train you in:  Motivational Interviewing; Courageous Conversations; Attachment, Regulation and Competency Model (ARC); Trauma Informed Practice; Substance Use Intervention; Risk and Safety Assessment.
