The Denver Collaborative Partnership is Denver County's Collaborative Management Program. We work with children, youth and families and assist them in navigating complex systems such as Child Welfare, Juvenile Probation, Diversion, Mental Health and the School System. We work with local partner agencies such as Denver Human Services, Denver Juvenile Probation, Denver Public Schools and many others to connect families to resources and services to families that are multi-system involved or at risk of multi-system or further system involvement.
The DCP team values family voice and collaboration with our team members and amongst partner agencies. We strive to keep up with best practice and promote family engagement and data informed processes.
FamilyStrong is a grant funded program that is part of the Denver Collaborative Partnership. FamilyStrong focuses on preventing youth from being removed from their home and/or involvement with the Denver Juvenile Justice system and Child Welfare. Through our screening process of life domains, FamilyStrong puts in place services and supports toward the goal of Denver youth remaining in their homes and in their community.
Have on impact on your community through:
- Assisting the Program Coordinator with leadership and administrative duties like training new staff, improving systems, and processing referrals.
- Working with community partners to guide referral sources to available services, ensuring appropriate level of services are available based on the target population
- Screen referrals and utilize assessment tools to provide appropriate support
- Advocate for families in court and professional meeting settings and providing updates as needed
- Communicate to critical system stakeholders (Courts, Mental Health, Education, Child Welfare, Juvenile Justice) regarding service and referral criteria of FamilyStrong
- Facilitate family meetings
To belong and find success on the FamilyStrong team you will need to be:
- Be willing to work a flexible evening and weekend availability to be able and respond rapidly to referral calls and begin screening process
- A strong advocate for youth and families
- Embrace the values and beliefs of Family Strong;
- Have knowledge of issues related to teens involved in multiple systems including child welfare and juvenile justice
- Have the ability to navigate and negotiate across systems with and on behalf of youth and families
- Have the knowledge of multiple agencies systems, policy and practices
- Be results and solutions focused
- Knowledgeable of community-based services and supports
- Have strong case management, intake, screening and assessment skills
- Have Crisis Management skills, and be trained in a trauma informed service delivery
- Knowledge and skills utilizing Motivational Interviewing
- Be organized
- Commit to a strength-based, needs driven and family and youth centered approach
21 years of age
Good driving record
Bachelor’s degree
Basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite
Basic comfort level with learning software
Good communication skills, verbal and written
Bilingual Preferred
