Job Description

We’re seeking a self-sufficient, experienced farm operator to facilitate our grain and cattle feeding operation. The applicant should expect to routinely work independently, so self-sufficiency is critical. Job responsibilities are dependent on the season, and the applicant should have relevant experience with the following:

- Operating heavy machinery including tractors, manure spreaders, tillage, feed wagons, wheel loaders, front loaders, backhoes, etc.

- Maintenance and repair of farm equipment mentioned above, including rolling stock and farm facilities and structures

- Loading and unloading cattle, walking and processing cattle, feeding cattle, and cleaning/maintaining cattle pens and waterers

- Physical labor and fast-paced work. Ability to independently troubleshoot and problem solve

- How to always prioritize safety

We will prioritize candidates with experience in heavy machinery operation and mechanical aptitude.

We are willing to teach the individual about cattle handling, animal husbandry, and feeding practices.

Schedule

- Applicant will be expected to be on premises Monday through Friday without exception. There will be an expectation to work weekends during planting and harvesting seasons. The applicant should also expect to feed cattle every Saturday or Sunday

- Non-planting/harvesting hours expected to be roughly 7:30 – 4.

- Applicant should expect some fluctuations in hours, as deemed necessary

Requirements

- Authorized to work in the United States

- Must possess a valid driver’s license

- Fluent in English

- High school education or equivalent certification

- Must be willing to submit to a background test

- Class A CDL preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
