Farm Worker Oakwood University (Huntsville, AL) Job at Spur Jobs

Spur is looking for hardworking and motivated workers to perform farm work in the Huntsville area for Oakwood College. The ideal candidate will have prior farming experience and an eye for detail but will train!!!! The primary duty of this position will be harvesting, loading, and packing crops and materials in an efficient manner.
Duties expected of this position are:
- Harvesting crops in a safe, efficient manner
- Packing and loading harvested products
- Completing farming tasks as assigned
- Safely and responsibly using hand tools provided
- Assisting with construction of trellises or irrigation activities
- Performing other duties as assigned
Uniform:
- Workplace will provide a shirt
- Khaki or blue bottoms with no holes
Qualifications expected of this position are:
- ATTENTION: You Must Live In Huntsville, AL and Must Be Able To Commute! Spur nor Oakwood Will Pay For Relocation or Travel Fees!
- Must be enthusiastic, honest, and have a good attitude
- Must pass a background check
- Experience with local / urban and / or agriculture is preferred but will train
- Must be able to endure challenging work conditions when necessary
- Basic knowledge of farming equipment is preferred but will train
- Knowledge of pest management practices and techniques is preferred
- Knowledge and ability to distinguish different fruit and vegetable plants is preferred
- Must have ability to work Monday - Thursday 8a-2p
