Farmers Market Vendor Job at Front Porch Farm
Front Porch Farm is seeking a responsible and enthusiastic person to join our farmer’s market team! A diverse certified organic farm located in Healdsburg, Front Porch grows vegetable crops, specialty cut flowers, berries, polenta corn, and tree fruits, all sold proudly at various Bay Area farmers markets. We are looking for someone to represent our farm at the bustling Sunday San Rafael Civic Center Farmers Market.
Primary Responsibilities:
❏ Meet fellow market staffer at market to set up the stand. Create and maintain a visually appealing farmers market display based on the existing Front Porch Farm brand and standards.
❏ Provide excellent customer service and communication.
❏ Knowledgeably and enthusiastically discuss our products and our farming practices with the public. Educate customers about the uses of our produce and share cooking tips.
❏ Conduct accurate sales transactions.
❏ Keep market supplies organized and maintained (containers, signs, tables, tents, etc.) during set-up, market and breakdown.
Schedule:
Sundays, 6:45am to 2pm (or so, depends on how long it takes to pack up. Sales end at 1pm)
Our Ideal Candidate:
❏ Is a great communicator who is able to deliver excellent customer service
❏ Is enthusiastic about organic agriculture and interested in interacting with the public around food and farming
❏ Enjoys working hard and has the ability to comfortably and safely lift and carry 50 lbs
❏ Has good awareness of food safety guidelines
❏ Is detail-oriented and organized
❏ Farming and/or cooking experience is a plus
❏ Is able to work in a well-fitted ventilator mask in smoky conditions up to 250 AQI in the case of wildfires.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $130.00 per day
