Feedlot Manager Trainee
Wilroads Feedyard, LLC is a commercial cattle feeding operation that was founded in the late 1960's with a yard capacity of 14,000 head. Under new ownership WFY has expanded to a capacity of 33,000 head and operates in an environment with innovative technology and state of the art facilities allowing employees to thrive. A combination of technology and hands-on industry experience, WFY will continue performing beyond their competition.
The individual that best suites this position will be a team player who is self-motivated, detailed oriented, with strong organizational skills. The successful individual will be results driven, able to multi-task, and able to work well in a quick paced environment.
The feedlot manager trainee will start working in each department to learn each function at Wilroads Feedyard before assisting the current feedlot manager with the following roles and tasks.
Roles and Tasks
- Minimize stress and administer health of cattle
- Managing inbound and outbound cattle
- Hire and manage personnel
- Ensure feedlot stays clean and well maintained
- Feed management
- Understand mill operations
- Observe and understand proper safety procedures and rules
- Equipment maintenance
- Ability to recognize environmental needs
Specific Knowledge / Experience:
- Graduate from an accredited university or 1-3 years of prior experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
