Required Experience: knowledge in local flora and fauna, general surveying and/construction moniroting experience.

Experience with the following is a plus and on the higher pay range: Nesting Bird Surveys, Least Bell's Vireo Surveys, Riparian Habitats, Biological Monitoring.

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking energetic and experienced Biologists to join our team. Experience in wildlife surveying, environmental consulting, construction monitoring, and reporting is preferred.

This position will involve fieldwork, construction monitoring, and reporting for projects throughout California. Successful candidates will demonstrate experience with biological surveys, monitoring, data collection, and reporting in support of projects, and working with clients to provide environmentally sound solutions to their challenges.

Experience in the following is a plus: bird identification, and construction biological monitoring experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related life sciences field is preferred, or equivalent experience

The following is a plus 2+ years’ experience performing biological fieldwork, including surveys, habitat assessments, wetland delineations, and/or monitoring of environmental compliance for construction projects; experience in California with nesting birds, giant garter snake, red-legged frog, yellow-legged frog, western pond turtle preferred.

  • Ability to commute to remote work locations if needed.
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact with clients and represent the firm in a highly productive capacity
  • Strong data collection and quality control capabilities
  • Ability to write detailed daily monitoring reports
  • Ability to conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather and/or rugged terrain
  • Ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Must have a clean driving record and pass a background check
  • Specialized botanical, wildlife, or wetland delineation experience is a plus
  • Prior experience with GIS software (ArcPad, ArcGIS Online, Collector) is a plus
