Field Engineer

FULL TIME

As the Field Engineer; Oversee the layout, technical aspects and coordination of jobs in the field. Interface with customers and crews to create exceptional working relationships. Manage expectations to ensure we are meeting agreed deadlines and keeping the field moving forward. Create a safe cohesive environment all team members own and perpetuate. Keep Easton Companies on the cutting edge of all best practices, technological advances, crew efficiency and overall performance.

Position Responsibiltities:

• Scheduling: Manage the layout schedule and adjust accordingly as early as possible. Be flexible and roll with changes as required.
• Study Plans: Review and study plans in advance of going to the job site.
• Documentation/Paperwork: Initiate procedures with the project team regarding construction document management. Documentation includes, but is not limited to, RFI’s, submittals, transmittals, correspondence, meeting minutes, safety meetings, all change orders, bulletins, etc. as required. Create, track and turn in daily logs, review job paperwork, review costing, approve and assign bills per job, initiate change orders, job pictures and manage QA/QC job reviews.
• Safety: Conduct weekly safety meetings and assure safety of crews at all times.
• Leadership: Maintain a positive approach and attitude. Create learning opportunities to assist team members in developing skills and/or advancing on their career path.
• Quality Assurance & Quality Control: Customer satisfaction, and satisfaction for you and the crews, comes from quality control. Strive for optimal efficiency and quality by doing this the right way the first time.
• Project/Site Review & Preparation: Identify high risk items for crews prior to each job; conduct site visits and/or meetings with crews, Excavation Superintendent, general contractor, and other required parties for each job. Shall seek assistance of operations team for strategic owner/subcontractor meetings where a cohesive company presence is required.
• Problem Solving: Plan to the best of your ability, anticipate potential problems and solve all problems as they arise.
• Meetings: Attend weekly meetings with Easton Companies operations.
• Training & Development: Educate and promote those who work with you

Requirements:

• Degree in construction management, project management or equivalent job experience (minimum 5 years).
• Proficiency/experience with Auto Cad Civil 3D and Trimble LM80 Software
• Proficiency/experience with layout equipment
• Pertinent construction skills required to understand impact/relationship of foundation to finished project and all stages of construction on each project.
• Construction knowledge in structural and civil drawings; Survey background preferred
• Valid Driver's License

Compensation:

• $28 - $32 an hour
