Field Sales Lead Job at American Electric Power
Develops Energy Advisors’ sales skills to achieve their greatest potential through focused, descriptive, and intentional coaching and training.
Essential Job Functions are listed below:
- Facilitate engaging consultative sales training for new Energy Advisors during New Employee Orientation.
- Ensure that new and current employees understand the AEP Energy sales system and can effectively apply it in the field and in retail/event locations.
- Assist Supervisor in coaching Energy Advisors to meet/exceed sales standards and key performance targets.
- Provide ongoing, dynamic, and job-embedded coaching to Energy Advisors across the team through ride-along sessions in the field and retail/events.
- Determine strengths and opportunities for each Energy Advisor to tailor coaching specifically to the individual.
- Document, track, and analyze all training/coaching to determine the effectiveness of each session.
- Assume role of the on-site leader for events with corporate partners.

Minimum Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma/GED required.
Experience: Experience in competitive energy sales is preferred.

- Position is in the field with some field sales travel required.
- Door to Door sales experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

- Proven ability to replicate success through other Energy Advisors on the Field Sales team.
- Strong leadership qualities and abilities.
- Clear alignment and belief in the goals, core values, and vision of the Field Sales team.
- Masters all policies, processes, and procedures utilized within the Field Sales team.
