Job Opening (Analyst): This is a special assets / turnaround position related to businesses and real estate that are encumbered by non-performing loans and or bonds, primarily in the senior care, hospitality, and renewable energy sector. Our clients hold the debt and engage us to advise them on their defaulted investments to earn a higher recovery. We do this by understanding the underlying business and formulating a full workout plan resulting in the highest outcome possible. This could include operational stabilization, debt restructuring, or a hybrid such as improving cash flow of underlying business to then earn a higher asset sale. Once we identify the plan, we execute on it.

The successful candidate will possess:

Bright eyed and eager to take on any task to support the team at Certus. Growth within the firm.

· 0-3 years of experience in analytics or accounting

· Excels in senior care underwriting and building proforma

· Proficient in excel, power point, WORD

· Assess operational efficiencies

· Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

· Strong writing, communication, time management and interpersonal skills

· Strong analytical and research skills

· Strong computer skills

· Some travel required

· Self-starter who speaks and works well with others

Duties include:

· Analyze operations and able to benchmark performance against industry standards

· Review and assess projects in default and assess going forward options to improve client’s interests

· Learn documentation related to sophisticated loan structuring

· Support and work with senior staff on assignments, including financial modeling, writing, and assessing new ways to run business to create efficiencies

· Polished business writing skills required to write professional presentations and frequent written updates to clients

· Write Market analysis describing the property’s competitive position

Location: Carlson Parkway Towers, Minnetonka Minnesota

Compensation: Competitive commensurate with skills and experience, EOE. Base with bonus based on personal performance and contribution to the success of the firm.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
