Position Summary

The position is responsible for effectively preparing, operating, and maintaining assigned finishing equipment to ensure the production and quality of the products are done within a timely manner. This position also requires equipment set ups for the finishing equipment. This position requires the ability to produce manufactured product at an Advanced experience level. The positional also requires light maintenance. This position supports a lean and safe working environment while focusing on continuous improvement, quality, and support of teamwork throughout the Company.


Essential Job Functions

  • Interpret drawings, and/or item attributes and follow routings.
  • Operate Laser Mark equipment.
  • Operate Sonic Cleaning/Passivation equipment.
  • Operate Blasting equipment.
  • Continually checks, monitors, and corrects any quality issues that may occur during each customer job.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Complete all job-related paperwork and shop floor data collection accurately.
  • Complete Set Ups on Finishing equipment.
  • Able to suggest new types of fixtures to hold the products in the finishing equipment.
  • Able to assist and train others within the finishing department.
  • Able to maintain light maintenance on the finishing equipment.
  • Adhere to all aspects of the Quality Management System.
  • Adhere to safe operating procedures as required by specific standards related to equipment.

Marginal / Less Essential Job Functions

  • Flexible and continually maintain attention to detail.
  • Evaluate and maintain measuring and testing equipment.
  • Have excellent team working and communication skills.
  • Maintain a clean work area including machine operation cleanliness.
  • Assist other departments to troubleshoot equipment and/or process issues for continuous improvement.
  • Train and assist associates on operating functions as needed.
  • Meet all training and educational requirements as specified by department.

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Other Qualifications Desired

Training & Experience

  • Five years or more of Finishing experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of decimal and metric system, basic mathematical application.

Ability to read instructions, computer screens, and being able to visual review the products cosmetics with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify changes to take appropriate preventive action with or without reasonable accommodation.


Working Conditions

Well lit, climate-controlled manufacturing environment with moderate-loud noise levels. Position subject to occasional light to medium lifting (up to 50lbs), carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, and bending. Constant use of upper extremities with frequent gripping motions and wrist deviations. Occasional reaching above shoulder height, below the waist or lifting as required to retrieve and store raw materials and finished product. Position requires continuous standing and walking. Position frequently handles sharp cutting tools. Skin exposure to oils and cutting/grinding fluids with minimal exposure to fumes, dusts, mists.

  • Associate is required to follow other job-related duties, subject to all local, state, and federal laws and applicable regulations.
  • The incumbent must successfully perform all requirements of the position training plan.

When overtime is scheduled, it is mandatory.
