DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Working as a fiscal assistant will provide you the opportunity to work for the county and make a difference in the lives of children and the families in our community. As a fiscal assistant, you will be responsible for coding and entering invoices and receipts into QuickBooks and CAPS. You will be working with Adoption Assistance/SPLC Board Bill, wages and benefits, staff expenses, placement provider invoices, in-home service provider invoices, and petty cash. You will be coding manual and direct deposits. Invoices and receipts will be copied, logged, and filed. TANF application forms and RANF monies will be tracked and monitored, and the county payment report of QuickBooks and CAPS will be reconciled. This position will coordinate monthly statistics for adoption, SPLC, Housing Grants, and SSI/SS. Refund letters and journal entries for SS/SSI will be completed. In addition, you will be doing annual time studies and other fiscal duties as assigned by the Fiscal Officer I.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Full-time employment.
  • 35 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

There is no quarantine requirement for employees who have an exposure to COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status. Employees who have been exposed will be required to wear a mask at all times while in county buildings for 10 days following their exposure. Employees who test positive for COVID-19 must isolate for 5 full days from the onset of their symptoms. If the employee has been fever-free for 24 hours and has a clearance from their physician, they may return on the 6th day from symptom onset. These employees must wear a mask at all times while in county buildings until 10 full days have passed since the onset of their symptoms. Testing is available through the county. Exposures and positive test results are required to be reported to your supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
  • An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
