Fish/Tuna Cutter Job at True World Foods Atlanta
This position will perform various food production and warehouse functions in a Seafood Processing Facility at the loading dock and/or production areas to process customer orders daily. Must be able to cut fish. Works the salmon production line and/or tuna.
Essential Functions
- Uses forklift and electric pallet jack to move, stack, secure, load and unload products.
- Makes boxes for use in packaging products.
- Use the ice machine and distribute ice.
- May monitor inventory supplies and the ice machine.
- Tracks daily inventory of available fish/products and ensures their safekeeping.
- Prepare orders by scaling fish, counting, weighing, packing, and recording products.
- Cleans processing and storage areas. Properly disposes of waste after order preparation is complete.
- Will rotate working/learning different workstations: dry station, fresh station, and frozen station
- Flexible working mindset, willing to work overtime. (Things change as per our business situations e.g. or be asked to help with differing packing/production areas in the morning or delivery/pick-up in local areas.)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experiences
- Ability to lift and handle heavy fish/products up to 50 pounds.
- Some experiences are welcome to apply (1-2 years preferably). Training will be provided as we value a great attitude and willingness to learn.
Working Conditions
Work in a refrigeration/freezer environment. The refrigerated room temperature is between 28 degrees (f) and 34 degrees (f), and the freezer is kept at 0 degrees (f), therefor applicants must be able to work in this environment. The company will provide PPE equipment. Floors are slippery and wet due to spillage and sanitation.
