Fleet Leader Job at Cargo Transporters, Inc
Primary Function:
Manage drivers in assigned fleet. Coordinate and assist drivers in the movement of trucks and freight to maximize driver and truck utilization in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
Essential Position Responsibilities:
- Plans, coordinates, and communicates drivers' day to day work assignments.
- Maintains effective verbal and electronic communications with drivers.
- Plan dispatches with the driver and customer satisfaction in mind while maximizing utilization and reducing empty miles.
- Manage reports and procedures including, issuing EFS checks, random drug tests, current physicals, CDL renewals, etc.
- Promotes safety as a core value and monitors safety training.
- Coach and counsel driver’s behavior relative to company policies and procedures.
- Manage drivers' needs in regard to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, FMCSA rules and regulations, EEOC, labor laws, company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication and computer skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business or transportation.
- Transportation industry experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $980.00 per week
